The Faculty of Basic Sciences was established in Yasouj University in 1374 and has more than 26 years of experience in education and research in Kohgiluyeh and Boyar Ahmad provinces. Initially, it had fields of chemistry, physics, and mathematics, and after a few years, fields of biology, statistics, and phytochemistry were added to them. Faculty of Science has 63 faculty members with different degrees (13 full professors, 22 associate professors, and 28 assistant professors), more than 1000 undergraduate students, 400 senior students, and 100 doctoral students. This faculty educates students in 5 undergraduate majors, 14 master majors and 7 doctoral majors. The chemistry department has 12 laboratories, the physics department has 8 laboratories, and the biology department has 6 teaching and research laboratories. And 3 members of the Faculty of Science are among the top 2% of scientists in the world.
